Kriter’s Crew is composed of Emanuele, Konstanze and since January 2023 also Amos. Emanuele owns Kriter partly since 2004, he put a lot of energy, work, money and love into her first restoration which lasted till 2007. Konstanze fell in love with Emanuele and Kriter around 2018. Since 2019, she is our family home. Kriter’s cosy womb was an invitation for Amos to join the crew as well. He manifested himself with the first kicks in Konstanze’s belly in 2022, sailed already 500 nm in the womb from Sardinia to Ibiza, where he was born. And another 500 nm after his birth, sailing back to Sardinia. Depending on our guests Konstanze and Amos might sometimes stay on land and leave space to a hired deckhand.

Emanuele:

I was born here on this wonderful island (Sardinia) in 1958.
Despite being so close to the sea, I had my first major sailing experience only in 1984, when I crossed the Atlantic reaching the Caribbean and back again. Shortly afterwards, my first son was born, which is why my sailing activities were put on hold again for a while. In 1999, I finally founded a sailing school together with my good friend Franco Ricci, where I worked as a sailing instructor for five years. I also did regattas and ship transfers in the Mediterranean. During a stay in India, where I was lying in my hotel room with a cold and browsing the internet for sailing boats, I came across Kriter, which was for sale in America at the time. I embarked on this unknown adventure with a partner. After the purchase contract was signed, I brought Kriter from America to Europe on a cargo ship. This was followed by three exhausting years in the shipyard until Kriter was finally launched again in 2007.
Then, in 2016, I received an unmissable offer from a sailing student who wanted to buy a sailing boat, needed help with the restoration and someone to sail the boat with her to Barcelona. What this offer would entail was beyond the imagination of both of us (her name was Konstanze…;)

Konstanze:

I was born (1983) and grown up in the Stuttgart area. After my studies in process engineering and a doctorate in physical chemistry, the winds of life brought me to Cagliari, Sardinia, where I worked as a researcher and lecturer at the unviersity and also discovered my love for sailing. It soon became clear to me that I couldn’t resist the powerful energies of this beautiful island and that it would be my new home. In 2017, however, I had to move to Barcelona for 1.5 years for professional reasons. What could be more obvious than fulfilling my dream of owning my own sailing boat, which would allow me to sail across the Mediterranean to my new job and solve my housing problem at the same time? Emanuele played a decisive role in this venture and it soon became clear that our ways won’t seperate that soon anymore. Before Emanuele and Kriter (and later Amos) came into my life, I had numerous activities that kept me busy in the evenings and weekends such as running, climbing, sailing, swimming, hiking, ultimate frisbee, yoga, …. through which I was able to discover many beautiful spots of the island.
